Rautaki (Strategy): Develop an engaging and innovative curriculum that caters to diverse learning needs and increases student agency.
Ngā Tohu o te Angitu (Success Indicators): Individual goals set based on data analysis, ensuring personalized and effective learning, leading to increased student agency.
NELP Alignment: This strategy aligns with the NELP priority of ensuring that the education system is inclusive and caters to students with differing needs.
Whakawhanake Kaiako (Provide Professional Development for Staff)
Rautaki (Strategy): Facilitate ongoing professional development for our kaiako (teachers), equipping them with the skills to effectively implement our innovative curriculum.
Ngā Tohu o te Angitu (Success Indicators): Increased understanding and effective implementation of the new curriculum by kaiako, enhancing teaching practices.

Whakapakari Hononga Whānau (Develop Strong Whānau School Partnership)
Rautaki (Strategy): Foster strong partnerships between the kura and whānau through active involvement in ākonga learning.
Ngā Tohu o te Angitu (Success Indicators): Active whānau involvement in school life, leading to ākonga having an increased understanding of their identity and a sense of belonging.

Whakapakari Ākonga Agency (Strengthen Student Agency)
Rautaki (Strategy): Implement teaching and learning programmes that give effect to the New Zealand Curriculum or Te Marautanga o Aotearoa to improve outcomes for all ākonga, fostering student agency.
Ngā Tohu o te Angitu (Success Indicators): Ākonga demonstrate increased agency in their learning and decision-making processes.
NELP Alignment: Strengthening student agency aligns with the NELP priority of fostering an inclusive education system that ensures learner success.
Additional Learning Initiatives
Digital Literacy Programme We are excited to introduce a new digital literacy programme that aims to enhance digital skills among our ākonga, preparing them for the future.
Environmental Education Our school is committed to sustainability and environmental education. Students participate in various projects such as maintaining a school garden, recycling initiatives, and local conservation efforts.
Extracurricular Activities We offer a range of extracurricular activities to support the holistic development of our ākonga. These include sports teams, kapa haka, and more. Participation in these activities fosters teamwork, creativity, and physical health.
Community Engagement Ōhura Valley Primary School values its strong ties with the local community. We regularly invite local experts and elders to share their knowledge and experiences with our students. This connection enriches our students' learning and strengthens their sense of belonging and identity.
